anybody see The Transformers ? For an 80's child like me I've been looking forward to it for over a year when I first caught wind it was being made.

Saw it on opening day. Amazing. Highly recommended.

For a 60's/70's child, I never understood the whole transformer stuff.

So, who deleted the old thread?

Well, yeah. That's because you were already past that age in the mid-80's. For example, about 9 years ago I never understood the whole Pokemon thing. These days my niece and nephew love off "Sponge Bob Square Pants" and I have no idea why.

as a 60's child I guess you were hung up on Bozo the Clown ?

all I know is The Transformers ruled

Why? What did I do? :? Why would I want it deleted? I don't have the authority to delete threads.

"Some of us" suspect? Have there been secret meetings regarding the deletion of the thread?

I wrote that we suspect that you are the cause (notice that it is in italics), not the individual who deleted the thread. There were some PM's that went back and forth. No secret meeting. We still do not know who deleted the thread but we have our suspicions.

Buzzz likley removed the thread (which she really shouldn't have even if she started it and posted there becasue it belongs to all of us). Mark I think you pissed her off; now fly to Canada and apologize; at least bring her some thicker skin; it's cold in Canada.

Personally, I'm sorry to see her go.

Bineaz - I wanted to drag this along a little. See if he would figure it out.

Marko - We think it was the lovers tiff that was the cause of the deletion of the thread. The only people who were able to delete it were Bineaz, Penta (Axe, who has not been around as of late), Buzzz and me. Neither Bineaz nor I did it and Buzzz was the one who created the thread in the first place and was very close to it. And I do recall posting a couple of times for the two of you to get a room while you were having your little romantic chats. So its all of your fault for pissing her off. You never know what may happen when you piss a women off. At least you did not end up like John Wayne Bobbitt.

And it's not so that it can diasappear due to inactivity? At some forums I believe such can make threads disapear.

Cold in Canada? There's a couple of good Calvin & Hobbes quotes for that (plus I believe they often make movies in Canada these days):

Dear Santa. Why is your operation located at the North Pole? I'm guessing cheap elf labour, lower environmental standards, and tax breaks. Is this really the example you want to set for us impressionable kids? ...My plan is to put him on the defensive before he considers how good I've been.

"Do you believe in the devil? You know, a supreme evil being dedicated to the temptation, corruption, and destruction of man?"
"I'm not sure that man needs the help."

Calvin : You can't just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood.
Hobbes : What mood is that?
Calvin : Last-minute panic.

clearly not. If that was the case, then threads much older would have expired way before that one did. We wrote about The Sopranos Finale just a month ago, whereas there are threads that haven't been touched for a year.

Buzz deleted it.

Pabs:

Did you watch Tranformers yet? It is the best movie since Star Wars and LOTR. Although I was laready in my late teens I remember Transformers and always hoped to see them brought to life. I used to buy them for my boy but secreteky they were for me.

I am getting this one come September:

I'm aware that I probably pissed Buzzz off a little, but I don't see why that made her delete one particular thread. :?

I hope at least she's no longer a moderator here, as she lacks the emotional maturity to undertake a position of even minimal responsibility :D

Pabsy. Like the Pic, eh? Did you see the Movie yet? You see the VW Bug next to the Camaro when it finds the owner? Don't forget that Rides and Hos pick the Driver!!!!

I can't wait to get the HD DVD of the Transformers. It must be awesome to enjoy it at home!!

now that you mention it, the 70's Camaro was indeed next to a VW Bug. Sort of as a homage. LOL @ Bernie Mac as the used car salesman.

Well Mark...she's very interested in films and such, that tend to be rather emotional people at times (and if the Sopranos finale was on the discussion then she perhaps is a distributor protecting the interest).

But "film people" are strange, like Michael mann who is allegedly to do a film about the Litvinenkomurder. I read earlier that he intends to place the strory with the social and economic reality of post cold war. What surprised me is that it was said that he had already established contact with the widow. mann have done some good movies with depth to it and I sure do hope that he wouldn't base too much of the script at Litvinenko's wife (who according to news from the investigations "had not much of an idea about her husbands whereabouts") or his employer, who openly have bragged about how he used one of the largest newsbroadcasting agencies in Russia, which he owned at the time, to manipulate and even create news that "worked" for the benefit of his people.

I may have said it already but I sort of feel sympathy for the brits that their government have allowed for refugees who seem so desperate to draw that such of hostility towards them and having to spend so much tax-quids for the sake of protecting them.

Anyone catch The Simpsons?

You're gonna have to held your breath for movie review from me. I only average 3 movies per year. Not counting Cinemax too porn to be true stories.

I can offer excellent book reviews as well as reviews of The Avatar, The last Airbender, Seinfeld reruns and JEOPARDY!! Although I hate all the nerds that beat me.

Any questions. I give Transformers TWO thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you think is the minimum age for seeing The Simpsons. My son (5) has gotten hooked by that "spider pig." I heard it was a really good episode made longer. I'll probably wait.

By the way, Big Love continues to get better! Kudos for the reciprocated oral sex between Bill and Margene!

The girl is a sex machine!

Finally, two polygamist leaders duked it out. One got slapped around and chased by cops into Arizona and the other got shot by a couple of cult women right on the street corner. I am loving it.

Bineaz: It's a tough call. I haven't watched it but if it's anything like the Simpsons, the show, most of the dark humor willl go over his head.

I haven't seen Big Love, and it doesn't really look like my thing.

However, I finally caught a couple of episodes of Weeds last night, which made me laugh. Nancy's brother in law (who must be 30 something) having cyber sex with Silas' deaf, 15 year old girlfriend was hilarious

Wish I'd seen the show from the start, as it's tricky to get into something if you don't watch from the beginning.

PS: South Park OWNS The Simpsons.

Well if you watch Big Love, you might be able to better understand that Junk Drawer thread. Or maybe not.

I don't have Showtime so I haven't watched Weeds regularly.

Arcade,

What televison network airs these shows in Britain; here in the US they are on premium cable HBO or Showtime.

Weeds is on Sky One, which shows US Series before the terrestrial channels here do. It also broadcasts series such as Lost and 24.

Big Love is on either Five Life or Five US, which are sister channels to the mainstream TV station "Five".

I've just gotten into Heroes, which is shown on the BBC, albeit about a year late :nonono:
