Great game??? It was good, at best.

Chelsea a little too cautious in the first half. Got lucky with their goal.

They woke up in the second half and then Man U. appeared to be a little cautious as well. Although Man U. plays a better game, Chelsea was a little better last night.

Turned the tellie off and went to bed when it was time for the lottery.
But I do wonder why Agnelli ever allowed the appalling late Italo Allodi to be made general manager of Juventus when all Italy knew how he had "run" Solti on behalf of Inter for many years. -Glanville

Pabs,
I honestly felt it was Chelsea's year in Europe. Specially after the luck they had in the draw playing against Olympiakos and Fenerbache and the Liverpool own goal and the fact that they played like shit all year and still managed to reach the final.
Last night when Lampard equalised all that was confirmed. When Terry walked up to take the penalty I was convinced that was that.
But hey, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy :)

IMO - (as a Reds fan) I'd say better ManU than Chelskie. I don't like Avramovic. Transition tycoon spending millions of money stolen from hard-working underpaid, overworked people ... Perverse.... :duh:

I wouldn't exactly have called it a great game. It was a good & entertaining match that I enjoyed to watch. I felt that for the most part the game ended justfiably at 1-1. I thought Man U played a better 1st half but Chelsea made up for it in the 2nd half and O/T.

Gotta feel for Terry. What rotten luck. But that's what you get with pks.

Maybe it's me. But why are my colleagues (one italian, one irish) very happy that Terry slipped while taking the PK and thus missed?

I mean, I get at least three EPL games per week. Being a father and having a wife who owns a bar really limits my time in front of the TV. But why the hatred for Terry?

Congrats to Manchester for the win, and chelsea played really well (as opposed to the predictions before the gameby commentators) and made it really exciting.

For example, did you know that prior to taking the penalty John Terry changed his boots?

I'm glad the Cup went to Manchester, but also have nothing but respect for John Terry. Hardly anyone works as hard and gives as much to his team.

Having said that, Vidic had one hell of a season. Great guy.

Fairly even game overall. Man Utd should have wrapped it up within thefirst half hour but the second half was pretty much all Chelsea.

Not got much time to go over the game right now, I was nervous enough yesterday and don't want to re-live it.

Just wanted topoint out that people don't like John Terry as he's a referee hounding, snarling disgrace as England Captain and not an example to anyone:

Add Cashley Cole to the team and you have two of the most despicable people possible on one team.

Not tomention Frank Lumpoflard.

Congratulations to a United team that won both the CL and EPL, which is as it should be. Great teams manage to do these sorts of things.

And, no, it was not a great game. But, in my mind, the better team won.

Pram,
As you can see from the animation, Terry spat at Tevez on the sly. All the papers said he was pretending to wipe his nose with his sleeve or something to hide his face from the ref, and diagonally spat at Tevez. This is added to stuff he's done on the pitch like call Ledley King a lippy black monkey and stamped on Fabregas and Torres. And that's just this season he did the latter two things.

He also onced parked in a disabled spot then arrogantly paid the fine on the spot whilst laughing and he cheated on his fiancee with a 16 year old slut in the chelsea car park. Plus Him, Lampard, Gudjohnsen and Jody Morris went on a drinking binge and ended up in Heathrow airport swearing, stripping, vomiting and generally being offensive within hours of the 9/11 attacks, while surrounded by American tourists.

In my view he is also overrated as a player. For all these reasons I had no sympathy for him missing the pnalty. It really couldn't
have happened to a nicer guy :)

As for the slap by Drogba on Vidic, if the incident were reversed and Vidic had slapped Drogba, I am prepared to bet he would have gone down in agony clutching his face!!!
Anyway, Drogba is on his way, most likely to Milan.

If he didn't spit on Tevez, he could have even blew his nose on him. At any rate, very risky as the referee was there.

Terry doesn't like a good man but I have to say that he gives 100% to his team.

Magari. I do have a job and it requires at least 50 hours per week. Not a whole lot considering my wife does at least 75 with the bar.

With all the money she brings home, I could be a stay at home dad but my wife wouldn't let me. :)

Because she works so much, my time away from my job, means I spend it with my daughter or with my wife helping out in the bar. Very little free time.

The above animation doesn't show the full incident. A few moments later, Tevez cleared the back of his neck as if something had just hit him there.
In any case, spit or not, Terry was doing something on the sly which is quite clear from teh video.
