Has anyone seen Ronaldo´s picture on "The Sun"? It´s practically a retirement declaration; fat, wearing only an underwear and with a cigarrette in his hand. A guy said he´s the "FUMÔmeno", heheheh other said it could have been worse, he could have been surprised pregnant, wearing underpanties and smoking crack, heheheh

Pents

has Dunga named the Olympic team yet ? If so, can you list it.

Here you go Pabs .....

Pato not Kaka for Olympics
Tuesday 8 July, 2008

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brazil have named their Olympic squad with Milan starlet Alexandre Pato on the list but Kaka won’t be travelling to Beijing.

The South American giants have been drawn against China, New Zealand and Belgium in Group C of the Olympic football tournament.

Ronaldinho, Robinho and Fluminese man Thiago Neves are the three overage players in the squad with Milan locking up star man Kaka.

Pato, who was a revelation for the Diavolo last year, will have a chance to prove himself on the world stage.

The squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Diego (Almeria), Renan (Internacional)

Defenders: Marcelo (Real Madrid), Ilsinho (Shakhtar Donetsk), Rafinha (Schalke), Thiago Silva (Fluminese), Alex Silva (Sao Paulo), Breno (Bayern Munich)

Midfielders: Lucas (Liverpool), Anderson (Manchester United), Hernanes (Sao Paulo), Ronaldinho (Barcelona), Diego (Werder Bremen), Thiago Neves (Fluminese)

Strikers: Robinho (Real Madrid), Pato (Milan), Rafael Sobis (Betis), Jo (Manchester City)

Well. Clearly it's between Argentina and Brazil for the Gold Medal. I can't see any other team having a chance.

I agree 100% Pabs. They are both taking the tournament very seriously. Let's hope we can make the semis and shoot for a medal.

Are they going to play like a team or be glory hounds? Will the young ones rely too much on the elder players? Will the young ones resent the older players? Will the older players find the young ones easy to play with? It is not as simple as it may seem.

Intersting squad although Robinho isa wasted spot IMO as well as Diego. Sobis is an interesting but spotty striker. His only good game last season came against Barcelona FC. Pato? I don't know.

Still, I think Ronaldinho will make the difference and carry this team to victory.

You forgot how he performed at the last WC? Remember how he tried to be the star of the tournament. He just went through a bad season and people say he is on the decline. So he very well may try to use the Olympics to prove people wrong. He could be spectacular and lead Brazil to the gold. Or he could disrupt team cohesion. I am just saying that he is no guarantee for Brazil and other than his reputation, did not merit a call for his performance from last season.

Pato needs to learn how to take all of his chances.. I saw almost all of his games for Milan.. The talent is there.. he just needs to learn how to finish better. Robinho can be spotty sometimes.. As for Sobis.. I saw his game against Barcelona.. he's really quick.. too bad he plays for Betis..

risky move

how about if he gets injured ? Unless he takes out insurance on his own.

anyways, from what I read, today FIFA was supposed to rule on how some clubs are not releasing players. I haven't heard anything yet.

The rule applies to Under 23 players. Don't forget that Blatter supports the Olympic games and is a member of the IOC.

Clubs should release thier players, afterall a good showing can increase thier slave value.

Barcelona shouldlet Ronaldinho go, I am sure he's insured. Plus, what does he have to gain? Don't you think Nike will gladly make up the loss of wages for going to the tourney in one way or another?

Ronaldinho was called by the "Godfather" Ricardo Teixeira, but I don't think Dunga will use him as starter. It's just a guess, since when Ronaldinho was in shape , Dunga used to put him on the bench, imagine now that he's clearly fat and hasn't played a single game in many months.

The Olympic team is better than the main team (considering that Kaká isn't in both), but I believe we have 0% of chances for the Gold. With a non-coach like Dunga, it will be a miracle if we pass through the group stage. The only coach I can imagine worse than Dunga was Lazaroni, not by chance, Dunga was the symbol of his horrible seleção.

I don't know where did you take the idea that the seleção is taking seriously the olympic games: first , the idiot Dunga decided to accumulate both jobs (main team and olympic team coach), the preparation wasn't specific, in thes two years, they called the players and they played miserable two firendlies as "preparation". '
I think the only person to be worried about the olympic games is Dunga, it's his last chance, if he didn't win(100% of chances), it's the perfect reason for CBF to dump him.

Brazil vs Canada Women

I saw the women play a friendly yesterday. I was actually thinking about going to the game but since it was on TV, I decided not too.

1-1 was the Final score. Fair result. No Marta though.

Pabs,

i forgot that we do have chances of getting gold in football, with the women. With the man = 0%

Palo,

You are right , Dunga is the prophet, the apocalypse prophet, he came to assure the end of brazilian football, the signals are clear, first loss to Venezuela, first time ever in a 5th spot in the eliminatories. Next steps in his plans -> losses at home in eleiminatories games and being out of the next world cup. THE END IS NEAR!

Palo,

It may sound arrogant, but name y name, I think that even Argentina has a less talented set of players in the olympic team than us, but in modern football this equation can't work:

skilled players + bad coach + no training = Gold Medal

in the 20's -> maybe, nowadays -> never

Only if I believed in miracles, Dunga would call the players before the game and say: "Now do what you know with these players you've never played with and we will sure wil win". It's surreal.

About Budweiser, I haven't undesrtoos a single word you wrote, what was it about? Ambev wants to buy Bud?
