Considering Brazil came in second, I wouldn't say it was a weak squad. It seems Colombia does well in youth tournaments, but cannot translate that success to their senior team.

Now that there is a well-known Argentinian playing for Corinthians, I have become a Corinthians fan! Watch out, Penta, here comes Corinthians!

Brasil's starters against Hong Kong tomorrow morning are:

Julio César; Cafu, Lucio, Juan e Roberto Carlos; Emerson, Juninho Pernambucano, Zé Roberto e Ronaldinho Gaúcho; Robinho e Ricardo Oliveira. Coach: Carlos Alberto Parreira.

The game was schedule to celebrate the Chinese new year. Parreira only had all the players available today, when he conducted the only practice before the game. He says the game serves as a preparation for the game against Peru for the WCQs. Players like Lucio, Emerson, Robinho and R. Oliveira are seeking a spot on the main team.

Robinho scored his first goal for the Seleção.

Tevez also scored his first goal for Corinthians.

About the U-20, I watched 3 or 4 games (not entirely) ,the first ones weren´t very good, but the team got better and even when we lost (Colombia and Argentina), the team didn´t look very bad, the goals came in consequence of some bizarre mistakes and we lost many chances.

Both GK ,our lateral direito and Rafel Sobes are very good players.

I plan to watch Sao Caetano vs Sao Paulo on GolTV tonight.

Who are you rooting for Penta? he he

By the way, I was impressed with the #17 for Corinthians. A youngster, Dinelson, I believe is his name.

Ed,

hehehe, obviously for São Paulo, but it´s useless. For some mysterious reason, the Azulão has an impressive record against us , I think SP has only one vistory in the history against them.

I didn´t have the chance to see Dinelson playing but I´ve been hearing good things about him , in the last Copa São Paulo de Juniores(Brazil´s U-20 tournment) he was decisive for Corinthians bi-championship

Surna,

This Tevez thing was pure marketing MSI did to cause impact and say:" we are rich and we are running Timão now" .
Ok, the guy is a good player, but with all that money spent in a single player they could have bought many others at the same level. (and they didn´t have to be an arrrghentine, irc!) hehehe

GolTV is an American-based Spanish language channel which features La Liga, Serie A, Brazilian football ( I watched Corinthians against Limeira this past week), and other leagues. They are currently showing the Paulista Championship and Copa games, as well.

GolTV is ok.

I just don't like their announcers.

The braileiro was better when it was on Fox.

I usually end up muting these guys. Yapping on and on about things that are not even related to the game action.

What a Thrilling game! Rogério Ceni made shit in the first minutes, he kicked the ball, it hit SC´s player and the entered. SC 1 x0, some minutes after SP tied, SC had his coach (Zetti, world bichampion GC playing for São Paulo in 92-93) expelled. Soon after, SC had a player expelled.
Even with 10 players,Anaílson (he must be 1,58m at maximum) scored a golaço putting the ball over Rogério´s head, 2x1 at the end of the first half.

At the beginning of the 2nd half SC had another player out of the game. São Paulo tred hard, but nothing, the GK Sílvio Luís (2m tall) was in a good day and the forwards´ feet weren´t callibrated. By the middle of the second half a SC player came form the midfield carried the ball, nobody could stop him and he shot to the goal to mark 3x1. It seemed like Leão would have a hard time explaining how his team (unbeaten until then) could have lost to a 9-men team. In th elast 5 minutes, SP put the heart on the feet and the game ended 4x3 to teh tricolor , who is the isolated leader of the Paulistão.

Penta:

I agree. The SC/SP game was very entertaining and had loads of goals. I don't know about the referee, however. I think he influenced the game too much with his constant calls and expelling the SC coach.

I noticed that SP had a large torcida at the game. No doubt, this helped your team.

Anailson's goal was very pretty.

Mano,

Come by as much as you can, but give us an advice first, so we can prepare ourselves and buy rotten tomatoes and eggs to thrown on you. :D

Bah, we finished in 2nd and you in 3rd, we have more SA U-20 tournments and we will win the world U-20 again in Holland.

And yesterday a brazilian got a penalty call and scored agoal against you , hehehe. That guy (Kurami or something like that) was born in Rio. Unfortunately , the ref robbed Germany and Sorín acting was rewarded with a penalty. :(

We are the top seleção of the world , so we only play friendlies against teams who has much $$$ to pay or for humanitary reasons like Haiti. Enough with these poor teams like Panamá, Andorra or Argentina, heheheh

Seriously, nice to see you back(not your back, hehehe)

Ed,

The ref is young and his style is already respect, the players must be aware of that. Zetti was shouting that the ref was afraid of Leão, he was warned twice, in the 3rd time, he showed the red card.

SC doesn´t have many fans, and the city isn´t very far from São Paulo, that´s why you saw many tricolores there

Anaílson is also known as Mr. Bean, that english comediant, hehehe

It doesn't make sense to say Robinho defeated Tevez. Rather, Santos defeated Corinthians. Since on the 3 previous occasions, Tevez's team had defeted Robinho's team, then it makes sense according to that previous logic to say Tevez is beter than Robinho.

Congrats to Ronaldo and Daniela! What a way to spend 700 thousand Euros... Ronaldo hasn't even divorced Milene yet, and Daniela apperantly is still married also. What's the rush? Milene is entitled to a chunk of his estate, while Daniela on the same track.

On a lighter note, Daniela kicked out Caroline Bittencourt from the wedding because of some old beef over another guy. :D

When is Ailton going to get a chance in the selecao? Or has he already been called before?

Ed,

Does GOLTV show the CL and UEFA cup also? GOLTV is part of the spanish pack, right? You can only get it with the second dish. FSW is now FSC, and the channel got a serious face lift...I just wish they had less infomercial, and the programing was more well rounded (they tend to give the English a lot of coverage).

GolTV shows Serie A, La Liga, Brasilian Paulista championship, Central American leagues, South American leagues, UEFA and other offerings live or in delayed format. FSE is showing Copa Libertadores and Argentinian football.

GolTV is part of the Latino Dos Dish package. If you call Dish you can usually get the upgrade to receive Latino Dos free. You have to talk to a manager and make your case.

Lobo,

I don´t think Ailton has ever been called for the Seleção and I don´t think he will ever be considered .

Corinthians bought Roger (ex-Flu and Benfica) and another argentinian(the 3rd) , Mascherano from River. With so many argentinians the Paulista championship must be rougher with the antidoping controls.

Speaking of that, I´ve heard there is an argentinian shortmetrage about a guy who is kidnapped, the kidnappers don´t want money, the goal is to kill him, but they give him a last wish. He says he wants to watch a Boca x River final that would happen the next day, they provide a TV. One of the kidnappers is Riuver and the other is Boca, they end up killing each other during the game and the guy escapes.

I think it sould be a nice movie for a brazilian to watch due to the happy end: instead of only one argentinian dead , there are two

São Paulo 1x0 Corinthians, Rogério saved a penalty kick. Tevez didn´t see the colour of the ball again.

Santos beat São Caetano in a thrilling game (3x2) and remains in 2nd, 4 points below SP.

In the Carioca championship, Vasco beat Fluminense 2x1 in the classic, Romário scored a goal(he came back to Vasco this year). Flamengo lost to Volta Redonda, Túlio "Maravilha" (yes, that one )scored Voltaço´s second goal.

Tevez is a true forward and needs someone to feed him the ball. Mascherano should help in this process. However, considering Tevez is from Boca and Mascherano is from River, can they cooperate? ;)

Would you accept a glass of water from Maradona or Bllardo?

Postby Axé Brasil on 01 Mar 2005, 16:24

No entanto, Maradona voltou a comentar o assunto nesta terça.

Ed,

But ,it´s a slight difference, in almost one century of games, it doesn´t mean much. The point is Corinthians is a passportless team, they are still dreming with a Libertadores title.

Surna,

How is your spanish? it´s official now in parque são Jorge. Portuñol at maximum. hehehehe Ié heard the guy who suggest names for Kia(the iranian who put the money from MSI to Corinthians) is argentinian. No wonder

Whata tough game? Paulista 2x2 São Paulo, the tricolor is still unbeaten (the only team now).Fortunately, Santos helped losing their invencibility to Palmeiras, SP is 5 points ahead.

Yesterday Corinthians beat União by 6x1 (2 by Tevez, 1 by Roger, his first for the "Timón"). Passarella was in the standings (he didn´t train the team yet)and celebrated a lot, only Kia(the iranian with the $$$$) celebrated more. :)

Mano,

Passarella had to answer the question(about Redondo´s incident in 98) for the 1000th time in his life during his presentation.

He answered "it was true, and all Corinthinas players must shave their heads now" he spoke with a serious face... total silence..." I was just kidding guys", he said after some seconds for the general laugh (of relief)
