I have a huge dilema

Postby agentesecreto on 23 Jun 2006, 22:57

My aunt's daugter, who happens to be my her nana and her Godmother, is getting married tomorrow. The ceremony is at 1:00 P>M PDST and the game starts at 12:00 my time. The church is about 20 minutes away so I figure I'll sneak in late. I am considering not going to the ceremony and calling in sick. But my family already know that football is kinda like a problem for me, ( I can stop anytime) I ran the idea by my mom and she suggested I go to the wedding since my little gilr is carrying the darn pillow or some crap. ( flowers I think) My cousin wont care, she's a psychologist. The groom is Salvadorean so he'll understand. My wife doesn't give a shit either way. We drive separate cars most of the time.

What should I do Dear Hargraves?

Like I use to tell my mom when I skipped the weddings of my cousin because I was playing:

They don't need me there to get married.

I would then show up for the party, after I played.

Watch the game. Then again, with your multi-TV system, you should be able to tape it.

I guarantee that they will understand. Just make sure to go to the reception even if they lose. You probably won't feel up for it, but you gotta do it.

In due time I will be joining you very soon.

come on. taping it's not the same. he lives in LA, the news of that game will be everywhere he turns.

I say get ready before hand. (sh!t, shower, shave) In THAT order. But don't wear the jacket because you'll dirty it or sweat it up like Aguirre's armpits from 2002. Then after the game, leave the house.

20 minutes away is not bad considering LA's bad traffic.

Falc, but if you tape the game, you risk inadvertently finding out the result from somebody else. I can never do that, unless it's a game in the early hours.

I'd definitely watch the game, but maybe that's just me.

Be a man. Watch the game. Weddings are for women. Only 3 guys need to attend. The groom. The bride's father, to give her away. And the priest. The rest are not needed.

I'm wearing an off white linen, colombian coca plantation shirt and gabardine/cotton slacks. I cannot wear darks, its summer time. I need a panama hat though.

I'm out of here....I hope to get some sleep. Can't wait to kick some Argentine ass. I used to have an Argentine GF who was fond of phone sex. I found that to be wickedly exciting. Plus she had the voice of a porn star. Slight Argentine accent and she sang in the choir.

Cynthia was her name.

No wonder his messages did not make sense so often. I just figured it had to do with his typing and writing style. I have to look above the avatar more often and see if there is a subject line written.

GO GO GO GO ARGENTINA Image

I have no favourite in the other game but I believe Germany is better and will win over the Swedes. But best of lucky to them both. Should be an interesting match.

Comparing the roosters I'd say that Sweden have players with more experience, that play in bigger clubs and that have won major titles compared to a rther inexperienced German team.

You're an idiot, fake Stromberg, and your team is shit. So what if you have some weird voodoo hex against the English, your squad is still garbage. You've got three class players: Zlatan, Larsson and Freddie. None of them play defense. Mellberg is and has always been shit and he's the captain for crying out loud. Wisen up.

Germany wins, but to be honest I never had the result in doubt. Next up Argentinavs Mexico and I think it is sad that two of the few non european nations that made it will be playing each other. However as a long time Argentina fan, I must throw my support with Argentina. And will be buying myself a jersey today! YEAH!

Yes, Sweden were horrible today. I tend to blame the fact that the German team didn't allow them to play their own game.

I'm looking forward to the quarters, which should be a much more difficult matchup. No reason for the German team to be afraid of anyone, though.

Seems that I underestimated Germany. Can't disagree with anything that has been said - they absolutely annihilated Sweden and should have won by more goals.

They have a great team spirit too, although Kahn does look like a miserable bastard when the cameras pick him up on the bench

If not for the former Juve backup, Isakkson, the score could have been much worse.

Germany was clearly a cut above the Sweden team. The sending off was very harsh, IMO. The referee (Carlos Simon) looked like he wasn't going to give out the second card to Teddy Lucic but it was if he had big brother watching over his shoulder, and after a long pause smiled and gave him the card. That ruined it for me. Podolski shoudn't have patted Simon in the back, it didn't look good on him.

Kudos to the German team though. Very little energies spent in their games and they find themselves in the 1/4-finals.

Key to their victory once again was finding that early goal. In today's game, they scored 2 early ones.

Moreover, I've never seen a team shoot so often on net from distance.

Sweden better get new personnel in their aging defence or they may very well miss Euro'08.

Zlatan, as much as I love the guy, but he's carried his Juve form from this season on to the Sweden team. Nice tatoo he has though.

The Swedes simply quit aftewr the missed PK. was with the ball>? I own one but I haven't kicked it. It does seem to fly further than any made to date for the WC.

Please. If you think I'm blind enough to think my team will go further you have me all wrong. I've said from day 1, that I don't expect much from this team. I expect Australia to win on Monday.

Now. If you have a problem with what somebody else wrote on the Serie A thread, take it up with that person and not me. Capsiche ?
