Threads Kept for the Records

It is a farce I tell you. Conspiracy against the Italians. Boye must have done a Bush and fallen asleep on the switch last year as I was able to win. I feel your pain my fratello Bineaz.

Thanks Falc. I appreciate it.

Mark,

Your pics aren't the problem really, other than I cannot surpass you, but the timing of Boye's pics--late last night--AHA. What's Boye's evil quotient?

 :P

I protest!

BTW: Villareal-Arsenal did their part: 0-0

Eugene,

post your predictions right here on the board. I'm sure Boye will accept that, in case all else fails. (Since Boye has apparently received my predictions, I won't have a strategic advantage from you posting your predictions here)

And in case you're absolutely sure you submitted your predictions this time and last time, and Boye still didn't hear anything from you on both occasions, you better e-mail him your predictions next time.

Pabs,

Last time we did an "NCAA" type tournament. Pick order of groups, second round, etc. I tabulated the results but if you or anyone else wants to be my guest.

The format we used was to pick how the groups finish 1 to 4 (4 points for correct 1st place, 3 for 2d, etc.) then 5 points for correct second round, 6 points for correct 1/4 finals, 7 for 1/2, 8 points for final, tiebreaker number of goals scored in final. We just create a thread to post all pics and someone tabulates but we can all do it ourselves.

CAN'T WAIT -- FORZA

Boye,

when I click on "details" on the latest rounds of UPC predictions, the link would show me the predictions of last year.

Also, a question: what happens if Eugenius and I finish level on prediction points? Would he win by virtue of his ranking, or would I win by virtue of my league stage record?

I propose to create a separate thread to collect the "predictings" for our little World Cup prediction competition.

Not to create a storm in a tea cup, but shouldn't felix have defeated me on third tiebreaker, instead of going to the 4th?

May I attempt to calm down that storm: :)

4th tie-breaker is correct. I guess you were looking at the tie-breaker rules for league rounds instead of considering those for cup ties.

Congrats to the elusive Eugenius for winning the CLPT. You deserve it. Another season, another silver/bronze medal placing. Oh well, I'll just have to go and win the world cup.

Thank you Boye for all of your hard work during the season. I know you're busy with your political career, and it can't be easy running this thing with all of that going on. I know that even I find it difficult to remember to make predictions at times and I'm not half as busy as you are.

Cheers guys.

Thanks, Mark.

BTW, keeping the tournament going and the website more or less updated has become more difficult than I had anticipated. You may have noticed that updates have been less frequent than they have been in the past. Therefore I'm probably not going to organise a new tournament next season.

However, if anyone is willing to take over, I'd be happy to let them take over.

I guess Boye is not running the CLPT this year. Need to check his site but I am surprised no one brought it up. Not that I have any interest in it this year.

Boye mentioned it a while back that he wouldn't run it--though offered to help with his website.
