BUON NATALE

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you can enjoy the holiday with your family and friends. Keep in your prayers all of the men and women serving our country who are unable to spend the Christmas season with their loved ones. Pray that they return safely.

Lazio To Announce Papadopulo As New Coach
12/27/2004 12:00:00 PM
The former Siena coach will be presented as the new Biancoceleste coach on Monday.
For Giuseppe Papadopulo, this will be a return to Lazio as he used to play for the Capital city side. The soon to be announced coach is looking forward to this new experience and hopes he can do well, even though he still wants to hear the official announcement by the club before he really feel as the Biancocelesti’s manager.

“If the situation ends well and I am chosen as the coach of a squad in which you had brilliant years as a player, it would be totally gratifying and would put you in a condition of great internal euphoria.”

Papadopulo is expected to receive a six month contract with an option of an extension at the end of the season.

Ronaldo To Milan Rumours Back In Full Force
12/24/2004 12:27:00 PM
Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Real Madrid might opt to sell Ronaldo to AC Milan in exchange for Gilardino.
The man behind what would be an incredible deal, especially given Ronaldo’s Interista past, is Real Madrid’s new technical director Arrigo Sacchi.

Sacchi is a huge admirer of Gilardino, who he brought to Parma.

It appears the Rossoneri already have signed the Parma striker for next season, even though there is no official confirmation on this.

If the operation takes place, it will happen next June.

Pabs - I'm not sure I know what you mean by Sky News. I mean we have Sky Meteo which is our weather channel and a whole bunch of news channels. I am not sure I have seen Sky News for Italy.

BTW, you want a real babe? Check out the new brunette velina, Lucia Galeone with the Siberian Vera Atyushkina.

They're hot and they should have already been snatched up by some footballer in Serie A.

Pabs - I do not know the hours of SKY News (Italian version) but I noticed the advertisement this morning before coming to work.

As to SKY Meteo, there are quite a few very attractive women there doing the weather.

With regard to Lucia Galeone, I see her just about every night dancing on Striscia. She looks hotter on TV than in pics. Canalis is certainly the hottest ex-Velina. She is definitely hotter now than when she was actually a Velina, which was back in 2001. She has beome more of a woman and less of a girl.

Galeone, in my opinion, can become the next Canalis.

So you get to see Scherzi A Parte? That's a MediaSet show which is on Canale 5 and is part of the Berlusconi owned network, Mediaset. Who were the hosts of Scherzi, Teocoli and Manuela Arcuri?

Can you tell me how many Italian stations you get in Canada?

Markino

Postby Pabs on 29 Dec 2004, 11:27

Yep, Teocoli & Arcuri were the hosts. I keep forgetting Teocoli's name. He does a good Cesare Maldini, especially when announcing the formazione with his son, Paolino :)

As for how Italian programming in Canada, this is a very long story that, believe it or not, actually had both the Italian and Canadian governments involved. The condensed version is that the Italian government very much wanted RAI to be shown in Canada. The CRTC (Canadian version of the US's F.C.C) REJECTED this. Instead they wanted to keep the status quo which was keep this station called "Telelatino". Telelatino (TLN) is a station out of Toronto that is broadcast nationally. TLN pretty much takes month old variety and year old soaps and shows them. Many times shows get repeated. RAI in turn told TLN that they weren't getting anymore calcio. So TLN had to turn to Channel 4 out of the UK.

The CRTC rejecting RAI caused an uproar in the Italian community, as understandbly people wanted 24-hr direct LIVE coverage. Even to the point of holding a demonstration at Parliament hill in Ottawa. Italian-Canadians vote for the Liberal Party, and the Liberals actions may have caused many Italian-Canadians to sway their vote, as now the Liberal Party holds a minority government, instead of the majority of seats they always enjoy.

Anyways, I have a feeling the CRTC will accept next years application and soon enough we will have 24-hr RAI

Pabs - Teocoli's impersonation of Vieri is awesome. He is also hysterical when doing the famous Italian singer Adriano Celentano.

Teocoli is awesome in that program with the lovely, beautiful and sexy Manuela Arcuri.

I have seen Teocoli on another sow this past year where he was tiresome.

Happy New Year to All

I can't believe I'm at work today. This has to be the first time in more than 10 years that I'm working on NYear's Eve.

I guess that's what happens in a company that was restructured with layoffs, relocations and budget cuts. It's got to get better than this, but in the end there's little reason to complain. At least I'm not working on NYear's Day.

BUON ANNO A TUTTI!!!!

I hate these new boards by the way, but what can you do. I've been away for a while. I was on a trip and then I got the flu over Xmas break...that SUCKS.

Oh well, I got to see the Steelers kick some more ass :)

I can't believe how many NY JET fans are coming up to me at work and thanking the Steelers for getting the Jets in the playoffs!

The Sports Bar was hilarious yesterday. NY fans can be so fickle...so during the Jets game, everytime the Rams made a big play, people would pound their fists and start yelling "Go Pittsburgh!" LOL

Serie Resumes on Thursday

Postby Falc on 03 Jan 2005, 15:20

Serie A kicks off the new year on Thursday. I believe Friday is a holiday in Italy (Epiphany) but it is too late in the week to play as matches will take place on Sunday as well. Juve goes to Parma. We have the Rome Derby. Forgot who Milan and Inter play. I guess we should keep an eye on Udinese.

The January transfer period opened up. So far, I heard that Maccarone will be going to Siena on loan for the rest of the season. I believe he was on loan to Middlesborough as Parma still owns him.

This board is different and I do miss the features that we were use to. On the other hand, the WC boards are not what they use to be. This business of logging in each time I go on is no party.

News from Raul

Postby Falc on 05 Jan 2005, 17:52

Hey guys, Raul, Rah, Rahl, Dutch _______ left us the note below on World Crossing. He was in an accident right before Christmas. He was injured but seems to be recovering. Keep him in your prayers.

Sup Gents

I was in a major car accident on 12/21. 18 wheeler turned in front of me and I ran into. totalled my car. I'm home chillin', had to have a section of my small intestine removed because due to the impact of the crash my seat belt tightened up and squeezed my abdomen causing a small tear in the small intestines. Luckily no colostomy bag so I'm all good to go. I do have a huge scar on my stomach but thank God I'm alive. It definitely was a life altering experience.

Life is definitely not to be taken for granted. Peace
