I don't know. It's not like Pabs is going to have a lawsuit for being illoyal for posting elsewhere if he feels like it.

lol @ shutting down.

It's about learning more, hearing new POV's, etc.

After all these years, we all know where everybody stands on every single subject under the sun.

Of course I can just post on both but I would have thought it would be senseless to do that if we all went to 1 site together. It's pretty self-explanatory that going to 2 sites is more time consuming than just one.

Jeesh. Forget I even said anything.

We should get our own domain name etc. So we would turn up on searches. That is how I found my other boards.

Haven't been around much since we left Worldcrossing, was going to post more during the World Cup, but I was leaving London (now live in the US) it took too much of my time. plus Sweden sucked big time!

Would hate to lose contact with our community, have been a member of it since 1997, back in the days when I was living with two considerably older women in Stockholm! :nonono: jeez, time flies, visited one of them, her husband and their three kids last time I was in Stockholm!

Have signed up at Big Soccer and posted a couple o times there, but like you guys I fear we will lose contact with each other if we moved there permanently. Have got neither the will or time to enter a new football community, it's you guys or solo... Plus I'd hate to lose contact with you guys.

All the best, and congratulations to all the Italians!

Hey Glenn

your summation on the WC as you saw it, your post-mortem on Sweden (ie what happened, why, weaknesses, future, etc), and the Sweden Vs England game that you looked forward to for years, but then dreaded after you lived in London.

Having sex with big Wisconsin women with hairy armpits on one of their lakes. I told the boy to use protection. Hopefully he heeds my advice.

hehehe, I'm already into the mixer over at bigsoccer.

I've wasted no time in making friends with the Australians, Yanks, and Portugese.

I could be getting my first yellow card any day now !

Next on tap, some sh!t-stirring with the Koreans.

Bineaz has a kid. I don't think he did it the scientific way and considering the love his mom had for the mother of his boy, I doubt it was done the scientific way. Why do you think I give him advice about bringing along the raincoat?

So that is what the yellow card is about. It means that you are warned. I saw that attached to someone's name.

I already had a debate with some ciuccio's on a DC United thread about what a threat Freddy Adu is to opposing teams. Are they kidding? I may not agree with some of the shit you guys say about the game and I know it is vice-versa but at least there is some level of respect for decent knowledge of the game. I am not sure if I can hand with some on that BigSoccer board. Some of them remind me what is wrong with the American approach to the game.

BNMS

I didn't write it in the Australia board, but rather in the "World Rivalries" thread.

I was talking to some Swiss loser, and brought up the Oz vs Ita game. Next thing you know, as if they had the words "Australians + whinging" set on alert they came rushing in like a bat out of hell. I read about the first 10 words of it before I gave my scroll button a work out.

as you said, that site is just way too big. I'm just going to read about 5 boards. It's a full-time job to read every board.

Soon though I can see myself just on the Italy thread.

I'm registered as "Pabs". You ? Have you registered or are still lurking ?

Yep

I've spent this week browsing that site, but clearly it is way too big. I think I'll just post on the Juve/Italy thread.

I will say this though

the bitter people over there are the one's who's team did not do too well (US fans, many English even though they made Top 8)

Conversely the supporters that are in great spirit and have positive posts are the ones who's teams did well and met/exceeded expectations (Portugal, etc)

as a result, the attacks are conducted by the bitter supporters at the direction of the satisfied supporters.

Why do Pabs want this place shut down so badly? A big forum is not necessarily a good thing.

My sentiments also. And I'm up for a domain for "us."

I talked to my friend Don who is a major soccer nut and he posts at BIG soccer but doesn't do so often as he gets his news/exchanges from other outlets (mailing lists, etc.).

What is his mailing list Bineaz ? Is it ISFA ?

Hmmm...

The World Crossing site seems to have weathered a bit of instability and still has a superior posting format.

Maybe we could return?

Big forums can be good, it's like with other crowds. Small communities tends to grow homeblind. I haven't been part of any mailing list aside of "almost" once. I kinda saw trough it never came closer than "almost". Some people went completely ballistic just because someone called B.S. for B.S.

I left a small village once because I was tired of listening to B.S. dictated by informal ridiculous rules about who has a "right" to utter an opinion and who hasn't. Occasionally you can come across a crowd on the net where you clearly can see a group of people belonging to a part of a mailinglist.

Still being a regular poster at other WX forums I would certainly hail a move back to WX. However I cannot possibly recomment it. WX is still not very stable. The sysops are currently trying, with very little success, to convince the WX community to move over to another site - apparently because they believe that WX could become unfixable in the future (in which case we would have to move AGAIN).

Check out this thread for details:
